Universal Health Coverage – the Shared Goal

Universal Health Coverage is an integral part of a healthy society which is why it is at the heart of Goal 3 within the UN Sustainable Development Goals - “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. But how can this be achieved in practice, in a time of resource constraints and increasing patient expectation? How can it be built in a way that meets the needs of today but is sustainable and scalable for the patients of tomorrow?

Conference Overview

This conference will review how to meet the needs and expectations of patients in the EU, India and beyond.
We will explore and share best practice between the EU and India through four moderated inter-linked sessions:

9:15 – 11:00

Session 1: Strengthening health systems - sharing lesson learnt

What experiences can be used to duplicate success but also to avoid U-turns and costly mistakes.
11:15 – 13:00

Session 2: How to Design a Health System

What are the key building blocks of a health systems and how can they be integrated and synergized in a way that allows effective treatment and patient choice.
14:00 – 15:45

Session 3: Regulatory Systems to Support Health Reform.

How can quality, safety and efficacy be reconciled with the need for faster patient access. Does regulatory cooperation hold the answer.
16:00 – 17:45

Session 4: Data as a driver for better outcomes

How can emerging countries exploit new technologies to spring-board their health delivery. Will e-health and m-health revolutionise health delivery and treatment while reducing cost.
